Andrea Juncos, Mona's friend, Mentor
Hello Esther and family. I did hear the news about Mona and I am so very sorry. I care about Mona very much and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I am planning to attend the service on the 30th. I will certainly send some thoughts and pictures for the iBook. I have also notified the executive director at Girls Write Now of the news and I will write some kind of blog or piece for a memorial on the GWN site. I know that GWN was important to Mona. She had expressed to me that she wanted to be a mentor there someday. I was in touch w her recently - she told me about her writing class at Hunter. She was so talented and creative and curious and kind. She truly inspired me and I am so glad to have been in her life these last ten years. I am on a train and need to get out now. But I will definitely send you some thoughts and pictures. I am so grateful and touched that you asked me to do that. Again I am so sorry for your loss. I am thinking of all of you. Hello Ester. Thanks for your recent note. GWN is planning to post a memorial for Mona on their site on Monday - with some memories from me and others with some pictures - and it will link to the website you sent me that you created and include info about the memorial service. Are you comfortable with GWN also sharing the link on the GWN Facebook on monday? Maya wanted me to check with you. Girls Write Now writers swing a poem backwards and forwards
