True Kindness - "Chessed Shel Emet"
Mona Daniella did "Chessed" - acts of True Kindness since childhood. "Cheesed Shel Emet" in Hebrew means "The True Act of Kindness" where a person doesn't expect anything in exchange for their good deeds.
Mona was an Advocacy and Public Relations Intern in MataHari, a nonprofit for immigrant women of color who are mostly domestic workers, or similar. She lobbied hard for, worked, and helped pass The Domestic Worker's Bill of Rights in Massachusetts, and compiled research on immigration reform and how immigration laws affect women and families in particular. She managed the newsletter and social media outlets, assisted in planning and running trainings and events for MataHari members, Mona was a Research Assistant, at the Harvard Lab for Developmental Studies, in Cambridge, MA. She studied prosocial behaviors in children at the Warneken Lab. She worked with refugees from communities like the South Sudanese Bostonians. She taught English language, Math, and literacy, as well as GED prep in individual and group settings to South Sudanese female refugees (six adult women, and five girls ages 3-11). Mona helped those families to get subsidized daycare, social services, and helped them with their public housing applications among others.
