Mona Daniella | girls write now 3
Andrea Juncos, Mona's friend, mentor
Yesterday I learned that my beloved friend and mentee Mona Daniella Haddad died earlier this week. Mona was exceptionally bright, powerful, curious, kind, and hilarious; she was a gifted writer who showed grace and bravery in the face of difficult times and dark thoughts. She was also extremely accepting and loving, a fierce advocate for others, and one of the most original people I have ever known. She inspired me in many ways, and I will always be so proud of her. This is a video of us from 2008, reading a piece that showcases her wit, creativity, and innocence. Girls Write Now writers swing a poem backwards and forwards
